Sportsvibe: Liverpool close in on star

Liverpool have been given a boost in their pursuit of Barcelona youngster Cristian Tello, as the Catalan club are reportedly planning to cash in on the winger.

The Reds have been looking to bring in Tello for a while now, but failed to secure a deal in the January transfer window.

And according to talkSPORT, Barcelona may be willing to sell him for around £8million.

The 22-year-old has made 19 La Liga appearances for Barca, but 17 of them have come from the subs bench since he broke into the first team in the 2011-2012 season.

And Liverpool want to add to their squad to ensure they can deal with the demands of Champions League football, after they secured qualification to the competition on Sunday.

Tello may be further convinced to join Brendan Rodgers' side if they can secure the Premier League title by taking seven points from their last three games.
