Lyon could defy the hopes of Premier League clubs Liverpool, Arsenal and Newcastle United as they bid to sign French striker Alexandre Lacazette.
TalkSport reports that the club are looking to keep the 22-year-old who has produced a career best 17 goals across all competitions this season despite the expected onslaught of bids in the summer.
Liverpool are thought to be favourites for his signature as they look to build up a squad with strength and depth before their Champions League campaign next season.
However, Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has no plans to sell the talented Frenchman and will instead offer him a new contract extension having started negotiations already.
"Alexandre Lacazette? We are negotiating and we aim to extend his contract," he told RMC Sports.
Lacazette has scored two in his last three appearances as Lyon look to make a late break into the European places at the expense of Saint Etienne who are just two points ahead of them in the race for fourth.
