Liverpool and Arsenal could be handed a major boost in the race to sign Zakaria Bakkali, with reports from Voetbal International suggesting that PSV Eindhoven could place him on the transfer list this summer.
Belgian starlet Bakkali - who has been frequently linked with the Reds in recent months as well as the Gunners - is one of European football's brightest young talents and it appears that he could be set for a swift exit from Philips Stadion if he does not put pen-to-paper on a new deal.
The aforementioned source states that PSV - who are believed to have offered the player a new proposal - are looking for immediate confirmation over whether or not he intends to remain at the club, and if he doesn't, they will look to put him up for sale straight away.
While it is not stated what sort of price they could be looking for in order to part with such a talent, you have to assume it could be for a fee lower than his general market value due to the fact that his contract is winding down.
Liverpool should be looking to heavily strengthen their squad this summer with a return to the Champions League imminent, and Bakkali - although he obviously has limited experience at just 18 years of age - would be an impressive signing for Brendan Rodgers given his obvious potential.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger - who is yet to sign a new deal of his own, of course - is also expected to strengthen his squad this summer.
And with Arsenal enjoying a prominent reputation as an excellent club for young players to develop and be trusted to perform at a high level, they could certainly prove an appealing transfer destination for Belgium international Bakkali.
