Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish is believed to be closing in on the signing of Blackpool midfielder Charlie Adam.
The Reds were close to signing Adam during the January transfer window but the deal fell through.
The Scottish international had an impressive debut season in the Premier League despite Blackpool getting relegated on the final day of the campaign and was nominated for the PFA Players' Player of the Year award.
Adam won many admirers with his performances in the Premiership and Tottenham as well as Liverpool were vying for is signature in January.
Kop boss Kenny Dalglish has already spent £20million on Jordan Henderson this summer but it is believed a deal for the £10m rated Adam is close to completion.
Dalglish and Liverpool's director of football are both huge admirers of the 25-year-old former Rangers man, and believe he will be able to offer a creative spark in the Reds midfield.
Speaking to the Blackpool Gazette, Adam said: "I go back to Blackpool on Monday and that's the way it is.
"Everybody knows the situation - the club have met with Liverpool but that's as far as it has gone.
"I had a conversation with the chairman but that will remain private. It's important that we keep everything in-house - whatever happens will happen."
Last season Adam 36 appearances in all competitions for Blackpool and managed to score 13 goals.
