Liverpool and Tottenham are locked in battle for the signature of Real Betis star Alvaro Vadillo, reports the Daily Express.
The 19-year-old has been earmarked as a future star in La Liga having established himself as a first team regular for Real Betis already.
Tottenham were reportedly in talks to sign the winger, dubbed the 'new Cristiano Ronaldo', in the summer as a replacement for Gareth Bale before talks broke down.
Despite changing managers, Spurs remain interested in signing the winger, who is believed to have a release clause as high as £17m installed in to his contract.
The retention of interest from Tottenham may be down to Erik Lamela's failure to settle at White Hart Lane since his arrival from AS Roma in the summer.
But Liverpool are ready to match any move Tottenham may make for the player as Brendan Rodgers looks to strengthen his side's fight for a top four spot in the Premier League.
But Liverpool and Tottenham aren't the only team looking at the player.
Both Manchester United and Arsenal are believed to hold a long-standing interest in the player while Serie A sides AC Milan and Fiorentina are closely watch the player's development.
Vadillo has made 13 appearances for Real Betis in La Liga this season.
