Liverpool could be set to beat rivals Chelsea and Manchester United to the summer signing of Southampton star Adam Lallana, according to reports.
The England international - named this week in the PFA Team of the Year - has attracted a lot of interest after a sensation season for the Saints, which is set to culminate in a trip to the World Cup.
And with several top Premier League clubs all keen on the 25-year-old, a summer bidding war could soon begin.
Chelsea and Manchester United are both thought to be interested in Lallana, but according to the Mirror, Liverpool are currently leading the chase with the midfielder favouring a move to Merseyside.
While Lallana hasn't yet stated his desire to leave St Mary's, he also refused to pledge his future to the club when questioned after the Saints' 2-0 victory over Everton on Saturday.
"I just want to concentrate on the last two games of the season and then we'll sit down in the summer and see what happens," he said.
"I just want to enjoy my football, that's when I'm at my happiest - when I'm playing well.
"Playing in a great youthful team like this, I feel like one of the experienced players nowadays."
