Liverpool's hopes of sealing a deal for Michel Vorm have been handed a major boost, with Swansea eyeing Reading goalkeeper Alex McCarthy, according to reports from The Mirror.
Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is believed to have made his former stopper one of his top targets for the summer, with addressing the 50 goals his side conceded in the race for last season's Premier League title a pressing concern.
Rodgers worked with Vorm when in charge at the Liberty Stadium, and is known to be a huge fan of the Dutchman.
A move for his services when the transfer window opens has been mooted, and it appears that the Swans are looking at a potential replacement in the shape of McCarthy.
The Royals 'keeper is valued at around £3m, and is thought to be keen to return to the top tier.
Vorm himself may also be open to a switch to Liverpool, with Rodgers' side set to compete in the Champions League next term.
