Liverpool look set to follow up their interest in Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Emre Can with a £10million offer for the youngster.

The Germany U21 international is a left-footed midfielder who can operate on either side of the pitch and he has been on Liverpool's radar for the past two years ever since they spotted him in a tournament in Mexico.

One major stumbling block could be that Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich, who only sold him last summer, have a first-option buy-back clause inserted in the deal and could move for their former player.

Anfield manager Brendan Rodgers is looking to add young exciting talent to his squad now that the club have Champions League football to contend with next season.
