Liverpool are set to make a new bid for Bayern Munich star Xherdan Shaqiri in the January transfer window.
Brendan Rodgers attempted to sign the Switzerland international over the summer, but saw his efforts rebuffed by the Bundesliga giants.
Shaqiri earlier admitted that he had been tempted by the potential switch to Anfield, but was adamant that he would fight for his place in Pep Guardiola's side against stars including Arjen Robben, Franck Ribery and Mario Goetze.
However, the 22-year-old's agent and brother Erdin has now claimed that the winger is looking to quit Germany in the next transfer window due to a lack of playing time.
Shaqiri has made two appearances in the league, and is unhappy that his promises of regular first-team action have not been fulfilled.
Rodgers splashed the cash on a number of attacking players ahead of the new Premier League campaign, moving for the likes of Mario Balotelli, Adam Lallana and Lazar Markovic, but the former Swansea boss is still keen on the Swiss star and will launch a January bid in order to strengthen his new-look squad.
And according to German outlet Kicker, Shaqiri's brother was quoted as saying: "In the summer there was no chance of leaving.
"But in the winter, there's a strong possibility, and we will look to see how many games Xherdan has played by then."
