MARCO REUS will not sign a new contract with Borussia Dortmund and wants to leave the club next summer.
According to reports in Germany, Reus does not want to renew his Dortmund contract, which currently runs until 2016, forcing the club to sell him next summer to avoid losing him on a free transfer.
It is understood that the 25-year-old has a release clause which is set to drop to just £20m at the end of the season.
Premier League rivals Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United are all desperate to snap up the German international but reports in Spain suggest that Real Madrid have already agreed a deal in principle to secure his signature in next summer's transfer window.
The Spanish club have an advantage in the race to sign Reus as the forward shares the same agent with midfielder Toni Kroos, who joined this summer from Bayern Munich.
Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc revealed earlier this month that the former Borussia Monchengladbach star is very much in-demand.
He said: "Well, there are also beyond this country's [Germany] borders other clubs for which Marco is interesting."
Reus has scored one goal in two appearances for Jurgen Klopp's side so far this season.
