Liverpool have been given a significant boost as they look to complete a deal for Inter Milan's Philippe Coutinho.
The Reds are believed to have had a £10.2m bid for the Brazilian accepted last week, with the player due to have his medical in Merseyside this week.
Coutinho has been tracked by Liverpool for a while now, who was also the subject of interest from fellow Premier League outfit Southampton.
And now Coutinho, who is edging closer to a move to Anfield, has been given the thumbs up by Inter president Massimo Moratti, who feels the deal could benefit both clubs.
He said: "There are opportunities that must be taken and at times players can have the chance to get more playing time.
"This is why I think this English move could be a great opportunity for Coutinho and a deal that would be good for us too."
Coutinho's sale is believed to be necessary for Inter in their bid to land Paulinho, who had been linked with a move to Chelsea this window.
Coutinho has scored two goals in all competitions for Inter this season.
