LIVERPOOL are in hot pursuit of Valencia midfielder Dani Parejo.
Spanish sources claim that Brendan Rodgers is preparing to activate a £20m buy-out clause in Parejo's contract.
The reports suggest that Liverpool's bid is imminent and Valencia will be forced to accept the offer for their former Spanish Under-21 international.
Rodgers announced that he is targeting up to five quality additions to bolster his Champions League bound squad - with Parejo in-line to be the first.
Having risen to prominence with Real Madrid, Parejo was later released and had indifferent spells with Getafe and QPR before finally fulfilling his potential under Valencia coach Juan Antonio Pizzi.
Parejo has featured in 45 games this season, scoring five times, one of which defeated Rodgers' former side Swansea in a dour Europa League affair.
The 25-year-old cost Valencia £5m in 2011, and with two years remaining on his contract, Liverpool may be forced to shell out the £20m to prize Parejo from the La Liga side.
