Liverpool scouted several potential transfer targets in Wednesday's Europa League final including Benfica's Andre Gomes and Rodrigo.
Brendan Rodgers' spies were in attendance at Turin's Juventus Stadium for the clash between Benfica and Sevilla - the Spanish side winning on penalties after a goalless draw.
Rodgers is keen on Benfica's holding midfielder Gomes, who stepped out of the shadow of Nemanja Matic following the Serbian's January switch to Chelsea.
The 20-year-old is admired for his accurate distribution from the middle of the park and is seen as a perfect fit to Rodgers' system. Gomes' passing accuracy was down to just 77 per cent in the final, although he was on target with seven of his ten attempted long balls and he made one key pass.
There is likely to be competition for his signature this summer and his price could escalate if he impresses at the World Cup with Portugal.
Rodrigo is another who would fit into Liverpool's style of play and can operate as a wide attacker on either flank.
The 23-year-old Spaniard has scored 17 goals in all competitions for Benfica this season and is also on the wanted list of Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger.
