Liverpool are being linked with a January swoop for Barcelona star Alex Song who is on loan at West Ham.
Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is said to be keen after seeing him run the midfield when the Hammers beat his Liverpool side 3-1 at Upton Park.
Reports in Spain claim he wants Barca to recall Song from his West Ham loan in January so that they can then sell him to Liverpool.
Song has little if any future at Barca where he cannot get a first-team game and they will be happy to get him off their wage bill so will not care where he ends up.
Hammers boss Sam Allardyce pulled off a masterstroke in the summer by landing the former Arsenal man on a season-long loan and he was hoping to turn the deal into a permanent one at the end of the season.
Song is enjoying his life back in London and West Ham will be hoping they can persuade him to stay whilst at the same time Liverpool will try and lure him to Anfield with the promise of Champions League football.
