Liverpool’s Alberto Aquilani is edging closer to a switch to Fiorentina, according to reports in Italy.
The Viola want the midfielder given the exit of Gaetano D'Agostino and the likely departure of Riccardo Montolivo.
Aquilani is eager to play his football in Italy again after Juventus turned down the chance to sign him outright following last term's loan stint in Turin.
Talks about a possible switch to Florence have been taking place and it seems almost all of the problems have been resolved.
Aquilani is willing to accept a pay cut to make the move and Fiorentina are also ready to buy him outright after their loan request was rejected by Liverpool.
But it is alleged that Aquilani would like a golden handshake from the English club of €1.5m in order to move on given his salary sacrifice.
It's understood that the player's agent will now hold further talks with the Anfield outfit in an attempt to find an agreement.
