Wolves are weighing up a loan bid for Liverpool midfielder Jay Spearing, 22, but will have to sell before they buy any more players this summer.

McCarthy is also keen on Liverpool's Spanish defender Daniel Ayala, 20, who was on loan at Derby last season.
