Out of contract goalkeeper Brad Friedel will have the option of signing for a variety of Premier League clubs during the summer.
The veteran American stopper is unlikely to sign a new deal at Villa Park due to the current uncertainty surrounding the future of Gerard Houllier.
Friedel said: "I still feel very good, I still think I've got a year or two left in the legs and we'll see what happens.
"I've enjoyed every minute of my three years here, so we'll just have to see what the future brings."
Liverpool are the latest club to join the chase for the 40-year-old, with Tottenham and West Brom both expected to express an interest over the summer.
Friedel spent three years at Anfield after signing in 1997, but he failed to claim the number one shirt and moved to Blackburn Rovers having made just 25 appearances.
However, it is widely reported that Kenny Dalglish is keen to bring the American back to play in front of The Kop.
It is expected that Friedel will spend much of his time on the bench if he moves to Liverpool, as back-up to current number one Pepe Reina.
The presence of Reina at Liverpool may mean that Harry Redknapp's Tottenham currently lead the way for Friedel's signature, as he would replace the erratic Heurelho Gomes between the sticks.
