Newcastle United centre back Steven Taylor has grown frustrated at the lack of ambition at the newly promoted side and wants to seal a move to Liverpool, according to the Daily Express.
Taylor, 24, has emerged as a major target for new Reds manager Roy Hodgson as he looks to add numbers to his defence. The player has spent all his career at Newcastle but is believed to have grown frustrated as owner Mike Ashley has closed his purse strings.
Manager Chris Hughton has so far only added Nottingham Forest utility man James Perch to his squad and this is not enough to keep Taylor at the club. A bid of £6 million is believed to be enough to bring him to Anfield.
A source confirmed the ex-England under-21 international's anger at the situation to the newspaper: "Steven is frustrated over the lack of ambition. Like all Newcastle fans, he just wants the club to become a force again."
