Liverpool have been linked with a move for Napoli midfielder Gokhan Inler.

The Swiss star was a target for former Reds boss Roy Hodgson during his time in charge at Anfield, and now it has been reported in Italy that Brendan Rodgers is ready to rekindle the club's interest.

It has been claimed that Rodgers is a big fan of central midfielder Inler and may launch a summer bid to bring him to the Premier League.

But the 29-year-old is near ever-present for Rafa Benitez's side and the Spaniard will have no intention of selling him to his former employers.
