Liverpool's hopes of landing Germany full-back Dennis Aogo could be dashed after the defender's agent insisted he wants to stay at Schalke.
The Reds have been tracking Aogo, who is currently on loan at Schalke from Hamburg, as Brendan Rodgers wants another left-back to provide competition for Jose Enrique.
Aogo could make his deal permanent at Schalke for just £2.5m next summer, but both Roma and Liverpool are reportedly keen on tempting him away from the Bundesliga.
However, the 26-year-old's agent Gordon Stipic says the player has expressed a desire to stay his on-loan club.
He told Ilsussidiario.net: "I know nothing of Roma's interest in the German footballer - he's fine and wants to stay at Schalke. It's normal, however, that a player as strong as him is attracting other clubs."
