Liverpool are ready to join the chase for Bayern Munich attacker Thomas Muller.

The German international's future at Bayern has been thrown into doubt after being left out of the starting line-up for the Champions League semi-final defeat to Real Madrid.

Reports have claimed that he is unsettled under Pep Guardiola which has sparked interest from Manchester United and Arsenal.

It is believed that the new imminent United boss Louis van Gaal has made Muller one of his main transfer priorities but the Express reports that Liverpool are also ready to join the chase. Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is desperate to add further quality to his side after seeing his Premier League title charge slip in the final stages.

With Champions League football beckoning next season, Rodgers wants to add strength in depth to compete with the rigours of European football.

Muller has claimed he wants to stay at the Allianz Arena but if he can't be guaranteed regular first team football, he may need to look elsewhere.
