Liverpool are reported to be on the verge of offering Chelsea striker Daniel Sturridge the chance to move to Anfield this summer.
Sturridge is currently recovering from viral meningitis but that has not put off Reds boss Brendan Rodgers who is keen to get the player on board as he steps up his search for a new striker.
The former Manchester City man is known to be weighing up his options this summer as he fears that Fernando Torres will get the nod to play as a lone striker in the forthcoming campaign and he will have to settle for a place out wide if he is to play.
Sturridge is desperate to play as an out-and-out striker and a move away from Stamford Bridge could be on the cards.
"There are a few clubs interested but Liverpool are ready to make a big move," a source close to the player has been quoted as saying.
