Saints reject Arsenal and Liverpool bids

Liverpool and Arsenal have had bids for Southampton wonderkid Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain rejected.

The 17-year-old is one of the hottest properties of this transfer window and is rated at £10million by the Saints.

Both Barclays Premier League sides are prepared to pay an initial payment of around £5million - but the Saints want as much up-front as possible.

Liverpool and Arsenal are also still trying agree a pay structure for the prospective add-ons.

Oxlade-Chamberlain's advisers - who held talks with the south-coast club on Tuesday - have been told the two bids were turned down.
