Reds to strike for French speed demon

Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson is preparing a bid for French under-21 starlet Dimitri Payet.

The very fast and skillful winger may soon be brought into the full French squad and Hodgson is looking to have the player at Anfield by January.

The Frenchman currently plays for St Etienne and has scored 12 goals in around 100 appearances, on top of many classy assists. Liverpool will certainly want to try and deal for the player before his international call up as many will know that International Caps can increase prices on players rather dramatically.

At the current market value the player is easily within Liverpool's reach at around £7million but the Kop boss will have to move quickly to sign the starlet as interest in him is likely to raise eyebrows across the whole of Europe.
