Rafa Benitez looks to keep current Anfield number one keeper on his toes.
Reports are circulating that Rafa Benitez is considering a move for AC Milan's Brazilian international keeper Dida this summer. The 36-year-old is out of contract and unlikely to be offered a new deal by the San Siro outfit even after a decade of service at the Serie A giants.
The Liverpool boss may see the veteran goalie as a good back up for Spanish international Pepe Reina. With the likes of untested Diego Cavalieri and youngster Peter Gulacsi seemingly not quite ready to make the step up to the first team should Reina suffer any loss of form or injury a move for the Brazilian international would appear to make a great deal of sense.
Given that the player can be picked up for nothing, it will be down to Benitez to persuade the former Corinthians man to make the move to the Premier League. Whilst there is no doubting Dida's pedigree, the goalie has won the World Cup, Champions League and Serie A title, he has suffered some high profile gaffs and apparently AC Milan boss Leonardo is ready to allow the giant stopper to leave the club in the summer.
