Brad Friedel is ready to make a shock move back to Liverpool this summer, as the 39-year-old becomes available on a free transfer in June.

Reds boss Kenny Dalglish is looking to secure the services of an experienced shot-stopper, with Australian Brad Jones set to leave Anfield.

Dalglish is a keen admirer of the former American international, who turns 40 in May, and will offer him a year-long contract as understudy to Pepe Reina.
