Winston Reid is in line to be offered a new deal by West Ham, as the club attempt to see off Liverpool's advances.
The Reds were linked with the defender over the summer, while the likes of Tottenham and Everton are also believed to be keen.
But the Hammers have no intention of letting the New Zealand captain depart Upton Park and are preparing to hold talks over a new contract to secure his long-term future.
Reid, 26, will see his current deal expire next summer when he could leave West Ham on a free transfer, while he could begin negotiations with foreign clubs in January.
And according to the Daily Mail, Hammers boss Sam Allardyce has no intention of allowing either of those eventualities to materialise and wants to make Reid one of the club's top earners.
