Metro: Sporting stopper on the radar

Liverpool are reportedly preparing a summer move for Sporting Lisbon shot-stopper Rui Patricio as the Reds aim to provide competition for Simon Mignolet.

According to The Mirror, Brendan Rodgers' side are keen on bolstering their goalkeeping options.

The publication claims the Anfield-based outfit will recruit another goalkeeper during the summer, with Patricio believed to be a potential target.

The 27-year-old - who has previously been linked with a transfer to Arsenal - made his first-team debut for Sporting in 2006, and has also made more than 30 appearances for the Portugal national team.
