Liverpool are reportedly weighing up a transfer-window move for Atletico Madrid's Saul Niguez.
Reds boss Brendan Rodgers has held talks with the 22-year-old midfielder's father on Merseyside, according to The Sunday People, with the switch now only hinging on the price.
Niguez has a £20million release clause in his contract, however it is thought Atletico could be persuaded to part with him for as low as £12m.
Niguez, who is on loan at Rayo Vallecano, is comfortable playing either a defensive or more attacking role in central midfield.
Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal have also been tracking Niguez, with the latter club in contact with his dad too.
The greater likelihood of regular starts at Anfield, however, is thought to appeal to the player and his father.
Niguez is due to face his parent club when Rayo host Atletico today in La Liga.
