Liverpool remain keen on a move for Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema, according to reports in Spain.
Spanish website fichajes.net believe the Reds are lining up a deal for the French international next summer, despite him having recently extended his contract with Real until 2019.
Brendan Rodgers is believed to be unwilling to rest on his laurels despite having both Daniel Sturridge and Mario Balotelli at his disposal and the recent injury to Sturridge has only enhanced his desire to add another top name to his attacking options.
Benzema is said to still be unsettled at the Bernabeu, especially since the arrival of Javier Hernandez from Manchester United and could be willing to move on if the right offer emerges.
However, it is unlikely Real will be willing to sanction a deal in the January window, but Liverpool are said to be willing to be patient in their pursuit of the 26-year-old, who they were heavily linked with over the summer.
