Liverpool are among the Barclays Premier League clubs tracking £8million-rated Burnley striker Danny Ings.

Ings has already netted 18 times for the Championship promotion chasers this season and is also attracting interest from Newcastle, Stoke and Aston Villa.

Burnley desperately want to keep the 21-year-old striker, but having sold Charlie Austin to QPR for £4million last summer, they know it could be difficult if an offer in excess of £5m is made during this transfer window.

Ings was rewarded for his fine form earlier in the season with a call-up to Gareth Southgate's England U21 squad, scoring twice against San Marino in November.

Burnley face a battle to keep another of their prize assets, attacking fullback Kieran Trippier.

The 23-year-old has eight assists to his name so far this season and is on Stoke and West Brom's radar.

Manager Sean Dyche will be desperate to hang onto his two young star performers to mount a serious push for promotion to the Premier League.
