Liverpool will make a firm £10m offer for Tottenham's Niko Kranjcar when the transfer window reopens, according to CaughtOffside.com.
The Merseysiders gave serious consideration to bringing the Croatian to Anfield in January but were wrapped up in negotiations over the signing of Luis Suarez from Ajax which continued for longer than expected. The next phase of squad development will see the midfield and defence strengthened after a total overhaul of the striking positions with the arrivals of Suarez and £35m man, Andy Carroll.
With Joe Cole having failed to live up to expectations, manager Kenny Dalglish sees Kranjcar as the perfect addition. Capable of playing from the left or through the middle, his versatility and no shortage of skill makes him an attractive prospect while his two recent winners for Spurs have not done him any harm either.
With Tottenham likely to spend big in the summer on their forward line, they will be prepared to let the former Portsmouth man go in order to raise some useful funds for their shopping spree.
