Liverpool have warned Juventus they will not allow Alberto Aquilani to leave on the cheap.
The Italian midfielder returned to Serie A last August after a disappointing first season at Anfield and has subsequently impressed.
Juventus want to turn the deal into a permanent arrangement but Liverpool will not entertain the idea of selling Aquilani for £5million, as has been mooted.
When Aquilani's loan was negotiated, a clause was inserted stipulating Liverpool would only consider doing business if Juventus matched their £11m valuation.
Aquilani does not want to return to the Barclays Premier League and Liverpool would be happy to offload his £85,000 per week salary.
Juventus general manager Beppe Marrota said: 'Aquilani must remain calm. We believe in him and he has shown he deserves to be at Juve.'
