Reports in Holland suggest that former Liverpool target Royston Drenthe is set to leave the Bernabeu and this has led to speculation that Roy Hodgson may look to capture the talented the former Dutch Under 21 international.
The 23 year old arrived at Real Madrid back in 2007 for a fee of £9m but has failed to secure a regular run in the first team and has found his spot on the left taken by Brazilian Marcelo and is even less likely to make the grade under Jose Mourinho who has just brought in attacking left sided player Angel Di Maria.
Speculation about a move to Anfield has been constant over the past 18 months and the fact that his good friend, Ryan Babel, is also at the club has merely made such stories even more frequent. However a move for the former Feyenoord man could become even more likely if indeed Rafa Benitez manages to persuade Argentina full back Emiliano Insua to move to Inter Milan.
