Liverpool facing fight with City to land Lyon full-back

Manchester City and Liverpool are set to go head-to-head for Lyon full-back Aly Cissokho.

Liverpool are in the market for a new left-back and have made the 23-year-old one of their summer transfer priorities.

But they will not have a clear run at Cissokho with City now ready to reignite their interest in one of their long-term targets, according to reports in France.

Roberto Mancini is keen to add some defensive cover this summer, especially with Jerome Boateng likely to leave for Bayern Munich, and they are now considering a bid for £9m-rated Cissokho.
