Andy Carroll's blossoming partnership with Luis Suarez has not stopped Liverpool from considering a summer move for £15million rated Ipswich teenager Connor Wickham.
Liverpool are keen on recruiting a young forward to add to the depth in their squad and have identified Wickham, 18, as one possibility.
Wickham scored his eighth goal of the season in Ipswich's 3-3 draw with Middlesbrough on Tuesday. In January, Wickham agreed a two-year extension on his Ipswich contract to run to 2013 but earlier this month that was ripped up and replaced with a fresh deal which expires in 2014.
It is understood the contract includes an escape clause of £15m for 6ft 3in Wickham, who helped the England Under-17 side triumph in the European Championship last summer with the winning goal in the final against Spain.
Wickham has since broken into England's Under-21 squad. Liverpool are also interested in Paris St Germain centre-back Mamadou Sakho, 21.
