Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is reportedly back in the race for Ever Banega.
The Valencia midfielder has been on the radar of both Liverpool and Everton in previous seasons, with the Reds thought to be contemplating a move last summer.
That failed to materialise, but Benitez is believed to be back in the hunt for the talented Argentine star.
Banega spent his junior career at Boca Juniors, spending seven years at youth level before making his senior debut in 2007.
A move to Valencia arrived in January 2008, with the La Liga side spending close to €18 million on the maverick youngster.
After a season long loan at Atletico Madrid, Banega is back at Los Che and once again making an impression at the Mestalla.
A quality distributor likened to former Anfield favourite Xabi Alonso, Banega could be one of the players to leave the La Liga outfit amidst financial concerns at the club.
David Villa and David Silva are also linked with Premier League moves, but the Reds could pounce for this 21-year-old for a bargain £8 million.
