Jamie on the lookout for runners

Jamie Carragher knows all about putting his body on the line and now he's hoping Reds fans will follow suit.

There are places up for grabs in the 'Team of Carraghers' who will take part in the Liverpool Marathon on Sunday, October 9.

The defender's 23 Foundation, which helps support youth organisations across Merseyside, want 300 runners to sign up to run on their behalf. Each will be asked to raise a minimum of £500 in sponsorship.

You don't have to be a lean athlete to take on the 26.2mile challenge. It's the first marathon in the city for 18 years and it promises to be a great occasion. Conveniently, it also falls on an international weekend so there's no potential clash with watching the Reds.
