Italian publication La Stampa claims that Roy Hodgson has identified Inter Milan starlet Rene Krhin as one of his top summer transfer targets and will work his connections at the San Siro to secure a deal for the highly-rated 20-year-old Slovenian.
The former Fulham manager is held in high esteem by the Nerrazurri hierarchy after two successful stints in charge of the Serie A side and will put to use his relationship with club president Massimo Morratti in an attempt to persuade the Italian champions into selling the youngster.
Krhin is regarded as one of the continent's top midfield talents and has also been scouted by the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea.
Although the player penned a new deal with Inter just last season it is believed that he would not turn down the offer of more regular first team football should such a promise be made by any of the Premier League giants.
Krhin only featured in five Serie A games last season but was still selected by Slovenia for their World Cup campaign in South Africa.
