Liverpool are bracing themselves for an offer from Inter Milan for the services of Argentine ace Javier Mascherano.

The Reds are desperate to keep the midfielder and last summer fought off interest from Barcelona for the player but this time it is former boss Rafa Benitez and Inter Milan who are looking to poach him away.

Mascherano has added fuel to the fire by admitting he is actually learning Italian whilst he is away at the World Cup, he said: "I am learning Italian while I'm here. I don't know what I'll do after the tournament."
