Liverpool are one of the Barclays Premier League clubs tracking SPL winger Chris Humphrey, according to reports.
The Motherwell star has produced a string of impressive displays in the Scottish top flight, leading to speculation over a move across the border.
A number of other SPL clubs are believed to be interested, while Liverpool, Bolton and Birmingham lead the chase for the player in England.
SkySports claims representatives from the three have been alerted over the past weeks as Humphrey's stock continues to rise at Fir Park.
The Jamaican born 22-year-old started his career at Walsall and West Brom before moving to Shrewsbury Town in 2006.
After three years with the Shrews, Jim Gannon signed the player for Well and Humphrey has made over 60 appearances for the club to date.
Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish is known to be in the market for a winger, with Ashley Young, Eden Hazard and Matt Jarvis all placed on the Anfield radar in recent weeks.
Humphrey would be the surprise choice should Liverpool decide to move for the player come the end of the season, although the player's valuation remains unknown at the present time.
With defenders and central midfielder signings also thought to be in the pipeline, it could be a busy summer for Dalglish and the financial backing of Liverpool owners Fenway Sports Group could well be needed come the summer.
