Nuneaton Town goalkeeper Kelle Roos is a step closer to realising his Premier League dream, after undertaking a trial with Liverpool last week, according to the Nuneaton News.

The 21-year-old Dutchman has attracted interest from a number of top-flight suitors, with Everton, Sunderland, Cardiff City and Crystal Palace also thought to be monitoring his progress.

Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is weighing up an offer for the highly-rated Conference keeper, who has kept seven clean sheets in 12 appearances for this season.

Manager Kevin Wilkin reiterated Roos's aspiration to earn a full-time contract, and confirmed that he's trained with a number of different clubs, without naming reported admirers, Liverpool.

"Kelle has trained with a few teams with a view to a move back into the full-time game," he said. "I've got no problem with it.

"He's kept his focus very well and been excellent for us. I've known all along he wanted to move to a big club."

Simon Mignolet is Liverpool's current first-choice stopper. Brad Jones is currently injured, and with Pepe Reina on loan at Napoli for the final year of his contract, there could be an opportunity for Roos to make his mark, if he lands a Merseyside contract.
