Leicester City are planning a surprise bid for highly-rated Racing Club starlet Luciano Vietto, who has also attracted admiring glances from Arsenal and Liverpool.
According to the Daily Mail, the 20-year-old forward has set his sights on a big-money move to Europe, and could arrive in England ahead of the 2014-15 Premier League campaign.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has been keeping tabs on Vietto for some time, and was believed to be considering a bid to bring the player to the Emirates Stadium this summer.
Brendan Rodgers has also been mooted as an admirer of the South American, as he too weighed up an attempt to lure the diminutive attacking midfielder to Anfield when the transfer window reopens in June.
However, both Liverpool and Arsenal now look like missing out on the 5ft 8in youngster, with Championship leaders Leicester now leading the race for Vietto's signature.
With a £7.5million buy-out clause written into his current contract, Racing Club were always at risk of losing one of their star performers, and the fact the Argentinian outfit are in a precarious financial situation only increases the likelihood of Vietto's departure.
With two goals in his past three games, the forward looks to be finishing the season on a high, and could earn himself that lucrative Premier League move, with his asking price believed to stand at around £6million.
