Liverpool are reported to have placed Son Heung-Min under consideration as a potential transfer target for the summer window.

The South Korea international only joined Bayer Leverkusen last year, having been linked with a move to Manchester United.

Son has scored 11 times and provided six assists in all competitions for Bayer Leverkusen this season and, according to the Daily Mail, his performances have attracted the attention of Liverpool as the transfer period approaches.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is monitoring Son, who was a €10 million acquisition from Hamburg last June.

The signing of the 21-year-old forward was quite a coup for Leverkusen, given the interest Son was supposed to be gathering in the Premier League.

Son's agent claimed there had been 'strong interest' from Manchester United manager David Moyes, but he resisted the temptation to secure a transfer to Old Trafford having been more impressed by Leverkusen's proposal.

It could be, then, that Liverpool can succeed where Manchester United failed, although Leverkusen will not be willing to part with Son unless a sizeable proposal is made by the Premier League leaders.

However, Son may be encouraged to consider his options if Leverkusen are unable to secure a return to the Champions League next season, with the club fourth in the Bundesliga and only one point ahead of Wolfsburg.
