Liverpool have reportedly been keeping a close eye on the progress of potent Napoli duo Edinson Cavani and Ezequiel Lavezzi.
Cavani has been in particularly flowing form in front of goal this season, netting 24 times in 34 Serie A appearances, while Lavezzi has scored ten goals in the league this term.
Unsurprisingly, the forward pair have been frequently linked with respective big-money moves away from Naples and now, it would appear, Liverpool have entered the race to sign them.
According to Setanta Sports, Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish watched Napoli face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday, with the purpose of running the rule over Cavani and Lavezzi.
Whether or not Liverpool decided to formalise their supposed interest in Napoli's strikeforce remains to be seen, but the completion of any deal would be a significant coup for Dalglish.
Napoli are, of course, at loath to sell their prized assets, but are likely to see their resolve tested during the summer transfer window.
