Arsenal defender Gael Clichy - a reported target for Liverpool - will be the subject of a bid from Paris Saint-Germain, it has been claimed.
According to La Provence, the Ligue 1 side are ready to table an offer in the region of €15 million for Clichy, who has only one-year remaining on his current contract at the Emirates Stadium.
Should the France international reject the offer of a new deal from the Gunners, then Arsenal may be forced to cash-in on him this summer in order to avoid losing him for nothing in a year's time.
Arsenal, however, are keen to keep Clicy, and Arsene Wenger has revealed talks between the club and the 25-year-old have already commenced.
The Arsenal boss said: "We have started talks with Gael and want him to stay."
Along with PSG, Liverpool are alleged to be closely monitoring the situation of Clichy in north London, as the Reds look to bring a left-back of proven quality to Anfield during the transfer window.
It was initially reported by Metro that Liverpool were weighing up a move for Clichy, while Newcastle full-back Jose Enrique remains a target for Kenny Dalglish.
Enrique himself is stalling over the signing of a new contract at St James' Park, and Liverpool legend Phil Thompson has previously stated that he understands the Reds have agreed a fee for the Spaniard.
Liverpool have also been linked with Celtic's Emilo Izaguirre and Benfica defender Fabio Coentrao in their pursuit of a replacement for Anfield flop Paul Konchesky.
