LIVERPOOL and Tottenham are among a number of Premier League clubs who are monitoring Alvaro Vadillo.
The highly regarded Real Betis winger piqued the interest of Spurs in the summer as a possible replacement for Gareth Bale but talks between the clubs broke down.
More significantly, the club weren't willing to sanction a sale for the promising 19-year-old, who is thought to have a £17 million release clause inserted into his contract.
But fresh reports indicate Vadillo has once caught the eye of Tottenham and Liverpool, with Manchester United and Arsenal thought to have had a long-standing interest in him.
It is also thought that AC Milan and Fiorentina are keeping an eye on developments and could be tempted to gatecrash a deal.
Vadillo, who at times has been likened to Cristiano Ronaldo with his style of play, could complement Spurs' system even though Tim Sherwood has explicitly said Erik Lamela will not be leaving this window.
However, it will be intriguing to see whether Betis play hardball once again during the window or relent and let one of their assets leave.
Vadillo has one goal to his name from 16 appearances this season.
