LIVERPOOL are poised to make a late bid for Fiorentina's wantaway winger Adem Ljajic, who has been hotly tipped to join AC Milan.
According to reports in Italy Liverpool are the latest club to express an interest in Ljajic who has also been linked with a move to Manchester City, Atletico Madrid and Galatasaray this summer.
Ljajic has been at loggerheads with Fiorentina this summer over his refusal to sign a new contract at the club and AC Milan had hoped to capitalise after already having two bids for the player rejected this summer.
The Serbian is set to meet La Viola officials for showdown talks this afternoon and if he still insists he wants to move, the Florence club will be forced to consider letting him leave.
Speaking to Sky Sport Italia last night, Fiorentina president Andrea Della Valle said: "Ljajic? I cannot give any answers right now, but there are several different options available."
And it now seems that Liverpool have emerged as one of those options with Della Valle admitting there is now little chance of the player being persuaded to stay.
He added: "He could still stay at Fiorentina, though there's not much chance of that happening. Next week we will make a decision, so give us a few more days.
"Personally I would like to keep him, of course, but one has to understand the player's intentions and the atmosphere."
Former Manchester United player Ljajic was in exceptional form in Serie A last term, scoring 11 goals in 28 appearances.
