Liverpool have declared their intent for Willian by kickstarting negotiations for the Brazilian playmaker according to reports.
The highly-rated 25-year-old who was previously a target for Manchester City has now emerged as a top target for the Reds.
Willian admitted recently in an interview with ESPN Brazil that he would be open to a move to Anfield, saying: "He (Kerimov) made it clear that, if good bids arrive, he would certainly help us go.
"Now I'm waiting for a new bid to arrive in the next days from a few clubs, like Liverpool.
"If it's really Liverpool, then it is surely a great club. I'm hopeful and very calm, just waiting for the best."
According to Sky Sports, Liverpool have opened talks with the player and his agent after failing to land Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Diego Costa.
Willian's price tag is expected to be in the £30m region.
