Ashley Williams could be sold to Arsenal to help fund Swansea's summer spending.
Manager Michael Laudrup has hinted the Capital One Cup winners might have to let one of their big names go.
And with Arsenal ready to open the bidding for Williams at £8million and one-time Swans manager Brendan Rodgers, who is now with Liverpool, also keen, they might be forced to do a deal.
Laudrup said: "There has been a lot of talk and let's see what happens. He extended his contract not so long ago, like I did. Maybe we have to accept one player will go, but not any more."
Wales skipper Williams signed a new deal until 2015 last October, but interest in him has continued to grow among the top-flight elite.
Although Laudrup guided his side to League Cup success, they are still unable to match their rivals pound for pound in the market, meaning Williams might have to be sacrificed.
"We need some players and we have to strengthen our squad to compete and try to consolidate the team," said Laudrup."
